Wall Street closed higher after starting on a low note as the U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen reassured investors that Americans’ deposits will be kept safe.

Fed’s quarter-point hike dragged down global stocks, oil prices and cryptos while slightly lifted U.S futures and gold prices. Dollar remained low as U.S bond yields dropped sharply.

Wall Street was dyed in deep red, with three major indices seesawing and finally declining over 1.6% as the market tried to digest the Fed’s confused answers in the Q&A session post-rate hikes.

Ahead of the Fed’s upcoming policy meeting: global stocks and cryptos enjoyed the green, oil prices crept lower, gold traded muted while dollar remained weak.

Wall Street was bright green as concerns over liquidity in the banking sector eased and investors focused on the Fed's upcoming two-day policy meeting, with expectations of a 25 bps hike.

Global stocks gained as fears about bank contagion and global financial system eased. Commodities showed little changes. Dollar remained low. Cryptos dipped in red.

U.S. stocks closed higher with investors’ regaining little confidence after central banks were trying to save the financial system from further contagion, while weighing the probability of a pause in rate hikes.
